Nicole A. van Lierop Joins Larson • King

Nicole A. van Lierop has joined Larson • King as an attorney. Nicole practices in the areas of professional liability, insurance coverage, and business litigation.

 

Nicole’s legal work is informed by her background in nursing and her experience providing hands-on care to patients with complex health needs. Both before and during law school, Nicole worked as a registered nurse at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, where she developed a deep interest in health law and healthcare compliance.  

 

Prior to joining Larson • King, Nicole clerked for the Honorable Suzanne M. Brown of the Anoka County District Court.

 

While in law school, Nicole gained practical experience working as a public policy extern for a local health insurance company and as a legal extern for a local nurses’ union which provided her with invaluable insight into a full spectrum of legal issues impacting Minnesota’s healthcare communities.  

 

Nicole’s interest in the intersection of health and the law dates back to nursing school at the University of Minnesota, where she interned for the Minnesota State Senate Chair of the Health and Human Services Committee researching a variety of health policy topics. While in college, Nicole was also a cheerleader for the Minnesota Gophers football and basketball teams, serving as team captain.
