Larson • King attorney Nick Rauch has been awarded the 2021 Deb Oberlander Award by the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association. The award recognizes a lawyer who demonstrates outstanding leadership, professionalism, skills, and advocacy in the practice of law.

In that role, Nick founded MDLA’s first-ever Diversity Clerkship Program. The program places diverse law students with local defense firms for clerkship. Nick also chaired MDLA’s Law Student Diversity Initiative, which pairs diverse law students with current MDLA members to attend seminar programming. Nick is also the planning chair for an upcoming MDLA Diversity Seminar, which will focus on the importance of diversity and racial justice, in the wake of the George Floyd trial.
As a Japanese-American attorney, Nick is proud of his heritage and serves on the Outreach Committee for the Minnesota Asian Pacific American Bar Association. He is also active on the Defense Research Institute (DRI) Litigation Skills Committee, having served as the Chair of both the Publications and Membership subcommittees.
