Kevin T. McCarthy is joining the partnership of Larson • King, LLP, after practicing with the firm as an associate.
Kevin’s litigation and trial practice is focused in the areas of professional liability, product liability, and insurance coverage and bad faith. In his professional liability practice, Kevin counsels a wide range of professionals, including physicians, members of the insurance industry, directors, officers, and other fiduciaries, in defense against claims of professional negligence. He has represented major healthcare groups in high stakes disputes and has successfully tried cases involving tens of millions of dollars. Kevin’s successful practice has earned him recognition from his peers, including the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch lists for 2021-2023 and the Minnesota Super Lawyers Rising Stars lists for 2020-2022.
Kevin is an active member of both state and national defense organizations, serving in leadership roles for the Defense Research Institute and the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association. He is also a frequent writer and speaker on substantive legal topics, as well as litigation trends and practice. Kevin is a graduate of the Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Saint Paul, a community social and economic leadership program.
Kevin graduated summa cum laude and second in his class from Michigan State University College of Law. He earned his undergraduate degree from Lehigh University, where he rowed for the varsity crew team and played NCAA Division I varsity basketball.
