Alex focuses her practice on business litigation, medical malpractice, and reinsurance. She combines her expertise in business law with a deep understanding of the complexities of running a business, especially marketplace software companies. She advises a wide range of businesses engaged in developing and defending their products and services, from emerging companies needing strategies to mitigate risk to complex commercial transactions.
Prior to Larson • King, Alex was a Judicial Law Clerk at the Minnesota Court of Appeals, for the Honorable Judge Jeanne M. Cochran and Judge Jeffrey M. Bryan. Under the direction of these experienced judges, Alex strengthened her legal skills by researching and writing on a wide variety of complex appeals.
Prior to her clerkship at the Minnesota Court of Appeals, Alex spent ten years in marketing communications and product marketing for software companies and sports agencies in Minneapolis and Chicago. During her time in the software world, she gained experience in a variety of transactions, including mergers, joint ventures, and asset purchases.
Alex earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. During law school, she was a Marshall Brennan Fellow, a student attorney for the Legal Assistance to Minnesota Prisoners (LAMP) clinic, on the Student Bar Association, on the Dean’s List, and an Executive Editor for the Mitchell Hamline Law Review. Alex received her undergraduate degree from Drake University. She studied abroad in Florence, Italy and taught English to Italian schoolchildren.
